Originally from Finland, now based in Berlin, my journey into circus began when I was ten years old. Like many great obsessions, it started with a single spark—one moment of awe that shaped the course of my life. I saw a performance that left me breathless, and from that day on, I was hooked. What began as childhood curiosity turned into a lifelong pursuit of movement, expression, and creative rebellion.

I graduated from Lahti Circus School in 2015, specialized in Washington trapeze and handstands, blending physicality with grace. But my artistic language isn’t just built on movement—music plays a huge role in how I approach performance. I play the kantele, a traditional Finnish instrument with 38 strings, and its delicate, resonant tones have deeply influenced my circus work. For me, rhythm and movement are inseparable; the body moves like a melody, and every performance is a composition in its own right.

Beyond performing, I’ve always been drawn to shaping the circus world itself. As a founding member and artistic director of SISUS, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the contemporary circus scene in Finland, bringing bold, feminist, and high-energy performances to audiences worldwide. Now, alongside Imogen Huzel, I’m embarking on a new adventure—creating Based on Kimberly, an interdisciplinary circus company in Germany. Our vision? To shake up the independent circus landscape and carve out new spaces for artistic expression.

Touring has been another defining part of my career—over 20 countries and countless stages. Along the way, I’ve worked with some incredible artists and companies, from Cirkus Cirkör to Sanja Kosonen & L’Avant-Courrier, Burnt Out Punks, Clowns Without Borders Sweden, Agit Cirk, Lahti City Theatre, and the cross-art collective Piste. Each project has shaped me, challenged me, and reinforced my belief that circus isn’t just an art form—it’s a way of seeing the world.

Circus is rebellion. It’s poetry. It’s movement, music, and moments of shared wonder. And for me, it’s a never-ending adventure—one that I can’t wait to keep exploring.
